A quiet March so far.

Slim pickings recently!  On March 4th I had a wander around the Trinity Broads starting at Filby where Barry Jarvis was on had to point out 2 superb red-head Smew.  Filby is probably the best site locally for this lovely Sawbill and I see them here most years.  I was also pleased that the long-staying Long-tailed Duck was still on Ormesby Broad.

Next it was off to Potter Heigham for a 2nd attempt at the pair of Cattle Egrets which I had been unable to find the previous day.  I had better luck this time but unfortunately they remained quite distant.

Three days later at work on Breydon Bridge I was delighted with a superb Red Kite passing low over the bridge and then heading off southwest.  The only time of year we see Red Kites from the bridge is during the spring so these are probably migrants rather than local birds.
